A week without Facebook, well to my dismay the week passed very quickly! I found myself bored; however, I began reading a book, in which I finished in the week we weren’t allowed to visit Facebook. I was very tempted to log into Facebook, but I didn’t want to break the rules. I decided not to delete the application on my phone because I wanted to prove that I had self control over not going on to the social media network. The first day was the hardest, but as time slipped away, I realized I didn’t need Facebook as much I thought. Twitter was not as interesting as Facebook because a majority of my friends do not have a twitter account. They are unaware of how to use it! Not using Facebook, allowed me to have more time to do things I normally would put off. I was having a conversation with my boyfriend, and he said “Nicole, if you have time to use Facebook, you have time to go to the gym”. He is absolutely right, why do I need to fulfill my time with useless information, Facebook is just an excuse to not complete things. I believe I wanted to go on Facebook because I was told I can’t! I just wanted to prove that I didn’t need to use it. As I was watching a Youtube video, ironically a video about Facebook appeared on the side of my computer. The video was called ” A World without Facebook“, byobizmedia. Interesting to see how many people use Facebook, especially in the different countries. I doubt that the creator of Facebook would ever dream of the fame he has gotten for creating this social media network.
